Analysis of the kinetic growth of an electrochemically formed bronze patina using the layer‐pore resistance model

The growth of patinas on artistic or archeological copper alloys is a determining stage to reproduce similar surface conditions such as corrosion protection cultural heritage materials. In this work, the kinetic and protective properties products layer quaternary alloy have been characterized using linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), scanning electron microscopy-EDS, atomic force microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy. results LSV show that patina formation mixed process consisting dissolution direct film formation. EIS modifies characteristics allowing Warburg-like diffusive mechanism response porous oxide without phenomena. roughness thickness enhance with decrease in scan rate. mainly composed tin products.
